Your missions

SWBC is seeking a talented individual to be key enabler of the Company’s contract and supplier management program strategy and risk management strategies with a focus on procurement and technology. This role evaluates contract and supplier management program requests and business use cases translating them into actionable requirements to include reviewing new and legacy purchases and agreements. This role facilitates contract negotiations between internal stakeholders and suppliers and ensures 3rd party risk and performance is managed to meet business, regulatory, and compliance demands of the organization through adequate security, privacy, and resiliency reviews, and recommends risk mitigation controls to protect the Company. This position will lead efforts to draft, negotiate, and review contracts, agreements, and statements of work with internal stakeholders and suppliers. This includes supporting sourcing and price negotiation, drafting, and reviewing hardware, software, software development, service level agreements, maintenance, and professional services agreements. This role will execute renewals, support audits, and coordinate security and privacy reviews.

Essential duties include the following:

  • Serves as an enterprise lead to coordinate technology focused procurement and the supplier portfolio reviews to include performance and risk reviews as a member of the C&SMP Team. Provides advice on sourcing/procurement as a subject matter expert to internal business stakeholders; collaborates with legal, compliance, information security, accounting, technology, and other stakeholders to ensure contracts meet security, privacy, compliance, legal, regulatory, and client requirements.
  • Serves as an independent advisory and liaison between Information Technology and the business units to assist stakeholders in interpreting and reviewing technology contracts and agreements. This supports rapid enterprise technology procurement by drafting, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating a wide variety of technology contracts, agreements, and statements of work, amendments, addenda, and other documents from opportunity assessment to execution. Clarifies the scope and need for specific technology procurement initiatives while recommending contract improvements as part of the review process. Leads competitive sourcing engagements through the translation of business objectives into defined requirements. Drives the creation and analysis of technology Requests for Proposal (RFP), Proofs of Concept (POC), and similar solution analysis activities.
  • Evaluates quotations, proposals, and bids with technology and business stakeholders to collaboratively recommend the best solutions as a combined element of product, supplier, service, quality, terms, and pricing. Leads negotiations with technology suppliers and suppliers to arrive at the most favorable contract, service, and pricing outcomes across Master Services Agreements, Statements of Work, Service Orders, and similar contracts documents. Manages contract disputes to resolve issues with the best possible outcome for the Company.
  • Reviews critical supplier relationships on an annual basis to ensure adequate contracts and processes are in place to meet regulatory requirements and ensures suppliers are held accountable to the contracted service levels.
  • Develops and maintains relevant analytics and metrics across relevant procurement categories. Produces regular procurement status reports, key performance indicators (KPIs), procurement risk register, and business continuity plan to sustain the technology procurement process.
  • Effectively and candidly manages the status of projects and supplier relationships through recurring business reviews in collaboration with the internal business stakeholder.
  • Updates tracking systems for all assigned procurement requests and tracks cost savings for stakeholders. Identifies areas of consolidation and cost savings across technology products and preferred suppliers/resellers.
  • Maintains contract repository for respective category management assignment(s) and stays apprised and maintains contract renewals in addition to software and support/maintenance renewals.
  • Recommends, communicates, and facilitates C&SM Program policy, procedures, and operating standards to stakeholders throughout the organization. Develops internal relationship manager playbooks, checklists, and training.
  • Maintains and improves individual skill set by seeking out training in response to emerging procurement trends and strategies within the field; suggests tangible improvements to corporate operations where beneficial; and strategizes on continuous improvement of review processes and workflows.
  • Serves as a first-level approver of information technology invoices to ensure accuracy and address discrepancies prior to second and third level approvers.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Procurement, Contract Law, Information Technology, or related field of study from an accredited four-year college or university required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Currently hold or be able to obtain the Certified Technology Procurement Specialist (CTPS) certification within 6 months (unless one already possesses the Certified Technology Procurement Executive (CTPE) certification), and Certified Professional in Supply Management® (CPSM®) within 12 months. Other Risk Management, Procurement, Sourcing, and Contracting certifications are acceptable.
  • Risk Management, Procurement, Sourcing, and Contracting certifications are preferred and beneficial.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience with procurement life cycle management in the technology industry and detailed knowledge of technology subscription models, cloud services, and outsourcing is required.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience supporting risk and/or compliance-related activities in a financial services operating environment or other relevant industry to include knowledge of Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) oversight and governance practices.
  • Experience across a broad range of goods and services to ensure accuracy in cost containment, contract terms for information technology to include hardware, software, software development, professional services, security, cloud services and renewals.
  • Experience in drafting, editing, redlining, analyzing, and interpreting proposals, contract terms, agreements, statements of work, pricing sheets, public cloud services, end user license, maintenance, and subscription, and related legal documents, especially as it relates to technology contracts.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Seasoned analytical and technical writing skills with a demonstrated ability to research, analyze, and synthesize data and information into concise, easily understood written documents.
  • Strong negotiation skills with third parties, internal counsel, stakeholders, suppliers, and senior level management necessary to advance the organization’s interests.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to lead multiple, highly visible initiatives and meet deadlines under pressure while working with both defined and ad hoc teams. 
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of non-technical business topics.
  • Knowledge of leading practices in procurement, strategic sourcing and end-to-end supply management processes including competitive bidding, contract management, supplier performance management and life cycle costing processes.
  • Able to manage relationships with upper management, internal legal counsel, compliance, business stakeholders, and suppliers as well as assisting in the resolution of competing interests between these parties.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and maintain strong, positive internal and external relationships. Ability to adapt to working environments and must be able to learn the nuances of SWBC’s diversified lines of business to step in and manage the supplier and/or contract project.
  • Highly data driven and detail-oriented ensuring accuracy in cost containment, contract terms, security, renewals, sizing deals, and when performing comparable pricing and producing metric reporting.
