The Sr. Manager, Fleet & Facilities Planning will be our key owner for all strategic and tactical decisions associated with the nationwide vehicle fleet and facilities management.  You will own all central strategy, planning, and management of Sunrun’s fleet and facilities portfolio, and will create and implement the processes that drive the decision making of the fleet and facilities team, including real estate strategy, vehicle purchasing, vehicle assignments and rules, vehicle transport, etc.  

This will also include ensuring that all data associated with Sunrun’s fleet and facilities is accurate across multiple platforms and by working cross functionally with other members of the Fleet and Facilities team, as well as with data analytics, branch employees, and external partners. You will also formulate, operate, and provide guidance to the regional fleet and facilities coordinators, who will execute on the detailed activities in their regions, including movements, assignments, and preventative maintenance. In addition, the Sr. Manager, Fleet & Facilities Planning is accountable to achieving company objectives, optimizing Fleet & Facilities processes, enhancing visibility and reporting, and oversight and support of performance management of the Fleet & Facilities organization. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor overall health of vehicle and facility data and reporting, providing a clear picture of current status and a forecast of potential future issues. 

  • Develop and implement strategies for optimization, efficiency, maintenance, and deployment for the fleet.

  • Identify actionable intelligence such as bottlenecks or underperforming processes or regions, and develop and implement solutions to resolve the issues

  • Diagnose data trends and themes for operational initiatives and strategic projects for the fleet and facilities team, including but not limited to real estate, safety, electrification, business licensing, and policy tracking

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to understand the current and future needs of the business units we are serving and develop implementation plans to more efficiently and cost effectively meet those needs including consolidations and expansions.

  • Develop and maintain forecasts for vehicle and facilities needs based on regional growth objectives, headcount planning, and operational requirements

  • Develop and maintain KPI tracking and operational performance reporting for the fleet and facilities team. Conduct analysis to support corporate goals and objectives by developing action plans and associate projects to improve efficiencies in fleet and facilities operations

  • Partner with functional leaders to ensure processes and procedures are followed and completed

  • Maintain department databases, spreadsheets, and external partner platforms, including conducting regular audits and records management

  • Manage vehicle assignments, transport, and purchase needs across the portfolio in collaboration with cross functional leadership and regional teams

  • Track compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT), registration, maintenance, and recall compliance and report on performance

  • Work with executives and other business leaders to identify opportunities for improvement

  • Design and release valuable business insights via visualization and reporting that support strategic initiatives and business decisions

  • Develop material for fleet and facility governance and program meetings

  • Build automation within data management processes and business processes

  • Any other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 8 years of experience in data analytics, inventory planning and management, project management, consulting, fleet administration, or other comparable work experience.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Statistics, Data Analytics, or other technical field is preferred.

  • Experience developing business cases and strategic recommendations; analytical experience with high aptitude for research, analysis and problem solving skills.

  • A comprehensive and detailed knowledge of analytical procedures, including data ingestion, preparation, exploration, analysis, visualization, root cause analysis, and presentation of findings.

  • Knowledge in SQL, Python, AppScripts, VBA or similar is a plus.

  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Microstrategy, Looker, Tableau, etc. is a plus. 

  • A working knowledge of sales, procurement, planning, operations (distribution, logistics, warehousing), and reverse logistics processes.

  • A working knowledge of ERP, CRM, TMS systems is preferred.  Experience with Oracle/Salesforce preferred.

  • Comfort in reinforcing policy and best practices; ability to push back appropriately when needed.

  • Must have a professional presence and properly communicate within the organization and with leadership (across business units and levels, etc.).

  • Excellent team player and strong sense of personal commitment and drive to the business and its customers.

  • Strong emotional IQ (ability to communicate and effectively interact with all levels of people) is required

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:

$92,183.18 to $122,910.90

Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.  Sunrun provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
