Summary of the Role:
As a Senior Automation QA Engineer in our team, you’ll be expected to:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute testing strategies and plans.
Develop and maintain automated test framework code and test scripts using Playwright/TypeScript.
Participate in code review for test automation code.
Perform functional, regression, and integration tests.
Apply SAFe/Agile principles to ensure quality is built into the software development process.
Create and maintain test documentation, including test cases, test plans, and defect reports.
Work closely with product owners, product definition analysts, and developers to identify testing areas as early as the design phase.
Work with the Agile team to identify and diagnose the root causes of defects.
Analyse test results and provide recommendations to improve the quality of the software products.
Keep up to date with industry trends and advancements in software testing methodologies and tools.
Act as an ambassador for test automation and shift-left testing.
About the ideal candidate
To succeed in your new role, you’re required to have relevant experience in the following areas:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
Previous work experience in software testing, with a focus on automation.
Strong programming skills in TypeScript or Java
Experience writing test automation with Playwright or Selenium
Understanding of HTTP and web technologies
Experience with test management tools, such as Jira or Zephyr
Experience working in an Agile self-managed team
Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment
Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software products
Fluency in English
Experience with Java would be considered a plus
Experience with tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions to implement testing within the CI cycle would be considered an advantage
