About the role
Are you an experienced QA looking for new challenges and an opportunity to further increase your testing capability and exposure to Azure Cloud? Maybe you have experience of Data and ETL testing previously and want to leverage that in a new environment? If yes, then we have the perfect job for you!
What you’ll do
As a Senior QA, you’ll play an important role in ensuring we produce high quality software solutions that solve customer and user problems. You will be joining a team which is integrating data from client and third-party sources to BigHand’s cloud environments.
Your responsibilities will include designing, executing, and reporting on Test Cases and Exploratory testing performed. You will collaborate closely with Developers, SDETs and manual QAs to ensure that our software meets the requirements and standards. Additionally, you will:
- Become a key member of the development team by validating sprint work and release candidates.
- Collaborate with the scrum team to understand software requirements.
- In collaboration with Manual QAs, SDETs and Scrum team, design test cases to run manually and potentially automate using Test Heuristics.
- Perform Data Validation and ensure Data integrity throughout the Replication and ETL process.
- Utilize SQL query capabilities to analyse and manipulate data for testing and validation purposes.
- Analyse test results and report defects in clear and concise bugs.
- Implement test strategies and regression plans.
- Apply advanced problem-solving skills to resolve testing related challenges.
- Gather, maintain, and report on quality metrics.
- Participate in in various meetings such as daily standups, sprint planning, refinement, retrospective and contribute to team decisions.
- Proactively and continually improve knowledge of functionality and testing techniques.
- Learn Test Automation tools and implement Automated tests, including API and Data Reconciliation.
- Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
What we’re looking for
- A good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle and QA processes in it.
- A good understanding of test methodologies. This includes knowledge of different types of testing, the test pyramid and the different testing tools.
- Strong understanding of SQL, relational databases, structure and design.
- Strong understanding of data modelling fundamentals.
- Experience of testing integration of data from source systems (ETL).
- Experience testing solutions to maintain a high level of data quality.
- Proficiency in data validation techniques and the ability to identify and troubleshoot data quality issues.
- A good understanding of MS Azure Cloud.
It would be beneficial if you have experience with any of the following:
- Azure Data Factory.
- Working with Data Lakes using Parquet or Delta Lake.
- DAX and/or MDX expression languages.
- Ability to articulate technical issues.
- Good understanding of Testing Metrics and reporting.
- A pragmatic approach to solving problems with a critical thinking mindset.
- Ability to identify tasks, dependencies or risks during backlog grooming/planning.
- It would be beneficial if you have a basic understanding of API testing and tools.
- Understanding and experience of using Automated Testing tools would be of great advantage.
- Desire to continuously improve both individually, and as a team.
- Able to create solutions and written documents independently.
