Summary of Job Duties:
The position reports to the RIS Director and supports subject matter experts to ensure policies are updated or created to meet all Federal, State, and UAMS regulatory requirements. The Research Program Manager will support the Director in coordinating changes/updates to the Grants, Agreements, Conflict of Interests, Animal Operations, IACUC, Safety, and other respective software.

Responsibilities:
• Assist the Director in keeping implementation on schedule and updating all committees involved with each project.
• Communicate with all external and internal stakeholders related to compliance, data integrity, workflows, system-to-system enhancements, and integrations.
• Help determine system requirements with users, investigate existing systems, assimilate data, help identify and relate information flow, including manual tasks and governing policies to determine inputs, processes, and outputs.
• Support implementation of custom software applications used to process and track grants, sponsored programs, and restricted awards at UAMS.
• Maintain training materials, conduct system training sessions, and help to ensure data integrity and accountability. Meet with users periodically to explain systems; suggest and receive system revisions and approvals from users; in conjunction with AD in modifying system designs to meet user needs.
• Support custom Software-as-a-Service and vendor software applications, specifically, the Huron Research Suite Grants, Agreements, Conflict of Interests, Animal Operations, IACUC, Safety, and other respective software for the Research Administration/Compliance Offices.
• Assist in creating required test files; analyzing test results and debugging software operations; checking data for validity; assembling documentation, software narrative, and user acceptance testing approvals.
• Support application implementations by coordinating with various areas of the IT department and the user community, troubleshooting application issues, and providing help desk support to users of these systems.
• Customer Service–interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed. Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary. Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments. Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.
