Your missions

VP, Attorney – Privacy

Responsibilities:

  • Draft and negotiate commercial agreements with customers.

  • Development of customer-centric solutions to ensure both legal compliance is achieved and internal and external customer needs are satisfied.

  • Providing practical, timely, strategic, and high-quality legal advice and counsel on global privacy and data security-related matters across the Company globally.  This includes working closely, collaborating, and coordinating with key stakeholders to advise on applicable privacy and data protection laws, regulations and guidelines affecting the Company's business.

  • Advising on best practices and compliance with global privacy and data protection laws, as well as overseeing legal and regulatory aspects of data collection and use, privacy disclosures and transparency, and related issues.

  • Advising on potential liability and other legal aspects related to data privacy and data security incidents and supporting the Company's privacy and cybersecurity incident response programs, including supporting the investigation of potential incidents, identifying applicable legal obligations, and supporting incident response efforts.

  • Supporting the development and delivery of privacy training materials and other communications to increase employee understanding of Company privacy policies, data handling practices and procedures and legal obligations. 

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate degree (or equivalent) from an ABA accredited law school Licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one State

Experience:

  • 6+ years’ experience prior inhouse counsel and privacy experience required.

  • Current member of the bar or able to be admitted to the inhouse counsel bar.

  • Experience negotiating and drafting a variety of agreements, including customer terms relating to services, data and information technology.

  • Privacy certifications (e.g., IAPP) a plus.

Knowledge & Skill:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully build relationships and work with cross-functional teams.

  • Detail-orientation and ability to balance competing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously under deadline pressure.

  • Ability to deliver in a demanding and entrepreneurial environment in a timely manner.

Location: Open to remote but must reside in the U.S.

The base salary range for this position in is $120K-$175K/yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A discretionary incentive program may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical and other benefits, dependent on full-time employment status.
