Peterborough Office and Home working

Full Time / 37 Hours a week

Anglian Water offers a flexible approach, this role provides you the flexibility to work from home and from an Anglian Water office. Your base location will be Thorpe Wood House in Peterborough but you can live anywhere within the Anglian Water region.

Make every drop of your potential count. Join our team!

Anglian Water operates and maintains an extensive asset base to deliver clean, safe drinking water to customers while ensuring the responsible return to the environment. Our assets stand as the core of the services we provide, making the efficient management and operation of these assets an imperative.

The efficient delivery and operation of those assets relies partly on our ability to make sure the right people have access to the right information, in the right format and at the right time in order to make well-informed decisions and to effectively operate the asset. Achieving this objective sits at the heart of the Asset Intelligence teams purpose. To further elevate our capabilities in this critical area, we are developing a team of highly skilled Asset Data Architects to contribute to the management of data and information throughout the lifecycle of our built assets.

In this role, you will be responsible for capturing and documenting the information required for the operation and maintenance of our water and water recycling assets. The information you curate will be formally and explicitly defined in a document known as the Asset Information Requirements (AIR) and utilised to inform and update the Asset Information Model (AIM). You will work with a wide range of business and partner stakeholders to ensure the AIR reflects the full business requirements for asset data and information. By working closely with the Enterprise Data Architecture team, you will maintain alignment to Anglian Water's broader information strategy.

The role will primarily work with data held inside critical IT systems such as enterprise resource planning (SAP PM), geographical information systems (GIS), computer aided design for engineering (CAD and 3D CAD), and content management (Microsoft SharePoint).

The documented requirements are expected to cover the entire asset lifecycle comprehensively and will extend to informing the development of Exchange Information Requirements for capital projects. With the upcoming AMP we will deliver our largest-ever capital program, this presents a significant opportunity to expedite our digital ambitions. Your role will be pivotal in improving data and information exchange practices to build strong foundations for data management.

What will you be doing?

As an asset data architect, you will play a pivotal role in developing AIRs by collaborating with stakeholders to define detailed requirements that align with organisational goals. This includes specifying the types of information needed, the format, and the frequency of update.

In this role, you will work closely with the Asset Systems Strategist to develop, implement and manage the Asset Information Model, ensuring a robust data model, aligning with industry and organisational standards.

You will create asset data models that define the structure of asset data entities, their relationships, and attributes. These models will represent various types of assets, their characteristics, and the relationships between them. In the development of these, you will facilitate collaboration between asset owners, IT teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that the AIM meets the needs of the organisation.
