Senior Manager, Annual Giving Partnerships

The ASU Foundation (ASUF) fosters partnerships between ASU and like-minded individuals, corporations and foundations who believe in ASU’s mission and provide resources for ASU to manifest its charter into meaningful impact  

The Senior Manager, Annual Giving Partnerships will contribute to the annual giving donor pipeline by building collaborative relationships with ASU Foundation (ASUF) partners and unit partners developing donor-centric strategies to drive a culture of giving. This role will manage a portfolio of unit relationships, acting as the annual giving liaison to the unit development teams. Led by data and donor insights this role will focus on creating unit-specific activations aligning donor segments with multi-pronged strategies to optimize donor retention and reactivation. This position will report directly to the Assistant Director, Annual Giving Partnerships.

What you'll do:
  • Strategic Development

    • Architect and activate a comprehensive annual giving fiscal strategies to retain, reactivate, and grow support from existing donors based on key unit priorities and areas of opportunities within the donor pipeline.

    • Collaborate with the Assistant Director, Annual Giving Partnerships to identify areas of opportunity to partner with units on multi-pronged donor acquisition campaigns.

  • Donor Retention

    • Utilize data-driven tactics to create campaigns that cultivate existing donor relationships ensuring a high level of engagement year over year.

  • Interdepartmental Collaboration

    • Collaborate with various departments to identify cross-functional opportunities and build a comprehensive library of resources.

    • Build and foster a portfolio of reciprocal relationships with key unit development and communication leads.

    • Assist with maintenance of and ideation of calendar of activities within the Annual Giving team.

  • Reporting and Analytics

    • Monitor and report of the performance of annual giving campaigns analyzing trends and making data-informed adjustments to strategies.

    • Contribute to a quarterly unit annual giving roundtable group to share out prior campaign results, highlight annual giving best practices or successes and provide a forward overview of upcoming initiatives.

    • Analyze unit-specific donor data, defining actionable segments for campaigns and programs for unit portfolios.

  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills.

  • Ability to adapt complex issues to a specific audience with wide variety of experiences.

  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to Foundation and University business and confidential prospect information.

  • Problem solver who can take initiative and set priorities while being flexible.

  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties.

  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects.

  • Adept at navigating complex environments with evolving priorities and communication plans.

  • Excellent technical skills - MS Office (specifically advanced Excel and PowerPoint)

Relevant qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field required, and 3-5 years’ experience in development, fundraising, or prior annual giving work.

Preferred education and experience:
  • Prior experience in solicitation writing a plus.

  • Hands on experience working with CRM, Salesforce experience a plus.

  • Knowledge of principles and techniques of development/fundraising, preferably in higher education.
