What are we looking for?
The bookkeeper is responsible for assisting the finance team in maintaining financial records, data entry, and assisting in meeting relevant compliance and reporting obligations.

What are you expected to do?

Accounts Payable:
  • Accurate processing of invoices into the financial management system.
  • Manage invoice payments, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure the expense management system allocates expenses to the correct general ledger codes and reports for GST and FBT purposes.
  • Review and ensure the correct coding of office expenditure to the general ledger system, either through the accounts payable process or credit card processing.
  • Assist with system approvals (including banking) in relation to creditor and payment runs.
Accounts Receivable:
  • Maintain accurate records of inbound payments and ensure these reconcile with the amounts invoiced.
  • Maintain accurate records of overdue payments and follow up on outstanding invoices as required.
  • Prepare and issue invoices to clients as needed.
Financial Administration:
  • Assist in maintaining the financial accounts and general ledger system, including:
    • Assisting in the preparation of annual statutory accounts.
    • Assisting in the end-of-month and end-of-year processing, reporting, and system maintenance.
    • Ensure the security and integrity of systems and processes, and follow required audit trails.
Payroll:
  • Assist with compliance in relation to payroll, including payroll tax, PAYG remittances, and superannuation, as well as reconciliations to the general ledger.
Reporting:
  • Assist in the production of weekly, monthly, and quarterly management reports to senior management.
  • Assist in the preparation of any client reporting requirements.
  • Ensure appropriate record-keeping and filing is up-to-date.
Treasury:
  • Prepare daily cash reports and cash flow reporting.

You’ll be a great fit if:

  • You have a minimum of 3 years of proven experience in Bookkeeping handling AP, AR, Payroll, Reporting and Treasury in an Australian project/client.
  • You have experience in maintaining the financial accounts and general ledger system
  • You are proficient in Microsoft computer tools (especially Microsoft Excel).
  • You have experience in financial systems.
  • You demonstrate commitment to, and enthusiasm for, personalised client service and delivery. You form and maintain effective client relationships.
  • You possess the technical knowledge and skills to meet the expectations and requirements of the role.
  • You have effective communication skills (both written and verbal), including the ability to effectively communicate requests and instructions to individuals and groups.
  • You respond and adjust to changing work demands and circumstances. You are open to and accepting of change.
  • You have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, creatively solve problems, manage and meet deadlines, and maintain a high quality of work.

What happens after you submit your application?

The whole process takes around 4 weeks:

  • There will be 3-4 interviews and a possible assessment from our client partner. You will undergo an initial interview, a culture interview, and 1-2 interviews with our cool client. This will run for about 1-2 weeks but we will let you know if we need to ramp it up. Be yourself and have fun.
  • We will constantly communicate with you as to the development of your application. You can also directly communicate with us to ask us about the status of your application.
  • If all goes well, we complete the reference check and provide other necessary requirements so we can offer you the job right away.

  1. Fit to Work/Health Card (Basic 5 employment medical tests)
  2. NBI Clearance
  3. Social IDs - PHIC, SSS, HDMF, TIN
  4. Character references with contact info
