Senior Application Engineer (all genders)

About the role

We are looking for a senior application engineer (all genders) for our 3rd Party Applications team. Our 3rd Party Applications team consists of 3 people and owns most of our Corporate 3rd Party Applications from the technical perspective and some of them also from the functional perspective. The team is also responsible for the software approval process. This function helps us to keep our corporate wide software landscape effective and efficient and to support our value chain in the best possible way. 

The senior application engineer (f/m/d) ensures that the 3rd party software landscape is available, secure, efficient and operated effectively. 

What you´ll be doing

• Evaluate, implement, integrate and operate mid-size and enterprise 3rd party applications (e.g. Finance and HR applications, Travel Management, Digital Archive, …)  for the GROPYUS group 
• Technical project planning and if applicable, rollout of the solution into our Microsoft Azure cloud platform  
• Own applications from a technical perspective, provide the best user experience and optimize the useability 
• Create, review and control application specific concepts and policies 
• Design and implement processes and procedures to manage and operate 3rd party applications 
• Ideally develop interfaces with low- or no-code 

What you bring

• You have already operated midsize to enterprise 3rd party applications for an organization previously  
• You have a strong technical understanding of IT architecture and APIs to identify system dependencies and interfaces needed for new applications  
• You have a profound understanding of IT security strategies and security measures and can implement them 
• You can capture functional and technical requirements from different departments to select and implement solutions  
• You possess Project Management skills to create project plans and manage external service providers of 3rd Party applications to implement solutions to timelines and our IT standards  
• You take ownership and proactively seek to improve systems and processes for the benefit of all 
• You are detail orientated and capable of creating SLAs with 3rd party service providers and internal guidelines for using applications 
• Ideally, you bring experience with monitoring and alerting tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Opsgenie)  
• You bring experience with Microsoft EntraID and Terraform 
• Ideally, you have hands-on experience with either one of these languages/systems: PowerShell, Azure Logic Apps 
• You can communicate effectively with colleagues and vendors in English, proficiency in German would be advantageous
