We are looking for: 

  • Technical Application Specialist Engineer for its solvent extraction technical organization in Africa (based in DRC with a scope of the DRC SX market and potential for Zambia and other regional support). 
  • This position plays a crucial role in providing technical support to new and existing customers and regional projects while working closely with the technical and commercial teams to promote applications for new and existing chemistries. 
  • You’ll be active in knowledge creation, transfer, and training of the customer teams on SX-EW topics.

 

We count on you for: 

  • Provide technical support to new and existing customers along with data interpretation and recommendations for the optimization of solvent extraction processes:
    • Travel to the mine sites;
    • Conduct chemical and physical plant audits of solvent extraction units;
    • Analyze data and communicate back to the customer with appropriate recommendations to optimize the operation.
  • Support the commercial teams to introduce new products to the industry with the support of the technical organizations;
  • Suggest  solutions to address unmet customer needs;
  • Perform duties in a manner that supports site SHE, quality, and business key objectives. 
  • Support advancement initiatives in the areas of Safety, Zero Defect, Customer Focus, and Operations Improvement through the utilization of a continuous improvement culture. 
  • Ensure strict adherence to site quality policy and procedures.

 

 

You will bring: 

  • Experience & Education: 
    • Bachelor or Engineer of Science Chemistry, Chemical Engineer, Metallurgist, or other related field;
    • Knowledge of solvent extraction operation, chemistry and testing methods preferred;
    • Experience preferred in the field of hydrometallurgy;
    • Understand and work with a variety of computer software packages including Google and Microsoft platforms;
    • Fluency in English: oral and written communication with the ability to engage and work with other business functions within the company;
    • Proficiency in the Chinese language would be an asset for this role to engage and work with Chinese-owned customers in the region. 
  • Desired behavioral skills:
