JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State’s Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering and the Agricultural Safety and Health Program seek a research technologist to work with Dr. Florence Becot, a rural sociologist, to work on projects related to farm families’ health, safety, and well-being using qualitative and quantitative research mentals. This includes projects on childcare and farm children safety and farmer mental health.
Role
The research technologist will closely work with Dr. Becot on all aspects of research projects including project management, research design, data collection, data analysis, research write-up, and sharing of findings with a diversity of audiences.
Education and Experience:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree, plus 6 years relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidate must have training and experience with the development, coordination, and implementation of research efforts on topics connected to agricultural safety and health, the sociology of food and agriculture, and agricultural and social policy.
This position requires an individual who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills as well as research proficiency, and ability to multi-task.
Additional Information:
This is a limited term appointment funded for one year from date of hire. This position offers a flexible work arrangement. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:
$51,000.00 - $74,000.00Salary Structure - additional information on Penn State's job and salary structure.
