Job Description

The Staff Accountant reports to the PQN Accounting Manager and assists with monthly close/quarter close, account reconciliation, payment tracking, remittance collecting and uploading, distribution and compliance processes. The Staff Accountant enters journal entries, reconciles cash and general ledger accounts, documents processes, and assists with special projects. 

Primary Job Duties: 

  • Track daily activities of PQN bank accounts.

  • Collect remittance and supports for cash received.

  • Collect at-physician-level details for distribution purposes.

  • Follow up with the payers for missing remittance and program information.

  • Prepare journal entries accurately and timely with appropriate supporting documentation.

  • Prepare monthly bank and general ledger account reconciliations. Follow up on outstanding items.

  • Track down payments per market request.

  • Search PQN-related payments in Athena and send transfer requests to Funds Flow.

  • Upload remittance to the market Drive folders to share with the market leads.

  • Pull activity-based at-physician-level details, calculate and distribute activity-based payments.

  • Update distribution status and dates on Payer Partnerships’ Monday Board.

  • Document business and accounting processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls. Ensure that desktop procedures are complete, accurate, and updated timely for areas of responsibility.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred or equivalent relevant experience.

  • 2+ years of direct accounting experience required. Month end close experience is a plus.

  • General knowledge of finance and accounting functions, including revenue, budgeting, credit, reconciliations, and internal controls.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.

  • Experience with ERP systems is a plus. Microsoft Dynamics preferred but not required.

  • Working knowledge of US GAAP. 

  • Must comply with HIPAA rules and regulations.

The salary range for this role is $65,000 to $80,000 in base pay and exclusive of any bonuses or benefits. This role is also eligible for an annual bonus targeted at 10%. The base pay offered will be determined based on relevant factors such as experience, education, and geographic location.
