The purpose of the Compliance Officer role is to assist the team to complete its assurance and reporting functions and contribute to business performance and efficiency, by championing a continuous improvement focus in the implementation of, and adherence to, quality compliance systems and standards, robust risk and mitigation strategies, and optimal governance practices business wide.
Leverage your experience in workers compensation to inform and educate others, manage queries and issues through to resolution. Work with the wider business by making appropriate recommendations to improve business outcomes, improve procedures and identify improvement opportunities that drive efficiency and support change efforts.
This will be permanent, full time position based in the Melbourne or Geelong office, with flexibility to work from home.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Use technical or specialist knowledge to inform and educate others, manage queries and issues through to resolution
- Plan, prepare, execute and report on audits and other ad hoc reviews.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of audits by external auditors
- Make appropriate recommendations to improve business outcomes, improve procedures and identify improvement opportunities that drive efficiency and support change efforts
- Assist in developing recommendations and procedures to ensure compliance requirements are met, risks are managed and remuneration maximised
- Assist in the provision of feedback of audit outcomes and remedial actions to relevant staff
ABOUT YOU
- Knowledge of the Victorian Workers Compensation scheme, legislation and policies
- Good understanding of WorkSafe systems, or the ability to develop knowledge quickly
- Strong organisational and time management skills and the ability to follow set protocols
- High level of resilience and a willingness to hold complex conversations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong personal responsibility ideals and superior customer service skills
