The Opportunity:

Avantor is seeking a motivated Business Development Representative (f/m/d). In this role, you'll relentlessly develop strong, sustainable relationships with your customer base, primarily by telephone and video calls, using your extensive knowledge of our product portfolio to build long-term solutions unique to each customer and their requirements.

This is a full-time, permanent position. Ideally, you’ll be based close to our Dublin office, but we offer this role with the flexible option to work from within Ireland. Working hours: Monday-Friday, 09:00-17:00 - if you live close to Dublin, 2-3 days office presence expected

What we’re looking for


Education: A degree in a Science related subject to help your understanding of our portfolio would be an advantage

Experience: Previous account management, telesales, or outbound sales experience

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong organization skills: you will manage a variety of different customers at different stages in the sales cycle while communicating with various other internal stakeholders
  • Outstanding communication skills: you will need the confidence to be proactive and use influencing/negotiation skills to drive conversations and relationships forward
  • Commercial understanding of the market, potential competition, pricing, and discount structures would be beneficial
  • Experience using a CRM system would be an advantage (e.g. Salesforce, SAP)

How you will thrive and create an impact

  • Utilise our internal network of product experts and our extensive catalog of products to support you in designing relevant product packages for our customers, always looking for ways to increase our competitive advantage and drive customer satisfaction
  • Develop customer relationships by setting up regular calls and face-to-face meetings, aiming to maintain and progress the opportunity for sales and profitability
  • Make outbound calls to leads to create opportunities for selling the Avantor product portfolio – ensuring a true understanding of the customer’s needs and tailoring a solution
  • Enhance your pipeline of prospects and opportunities through appropriate planning and forecasting to accurately achieve and exceed set targets
  • Demonstrate strategic agility in your approach to customers and projects and implement agreed strategies across your network of existing accounts and new prospects
