Overview:

Foundry is seeking a talented Full Stack WordPress developer to join our remote team based in the US. The ideal candidate will have a passion for web development and be proficient in WordPress development and customization.

 

The WordPress developer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining WordPress-based products for our stakeholders, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products that meet our stakeholders' needs and expectations.

This role will be based in our Needham MA office. We will consider qualified candidates for 100% remote in an approved US location. However, east coast hours are required. 

Responsibilities:
  • Develop custom WordPress themes and plugins based on stakeholder requirements, utilizing modern development practices.
  • Customize existing WordPress themes and plugins to meet specific needs while adhering to best practices.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and services into WordPress products seamlessly.
  • Build Gutenberg blocks to enhance the editing experience and provide stakeholders with flexible content options.
  • Develop block themes and Gutenberg patterns to streamline content creation and improve product editing workflows.
  • Optimize products for speed, performance, and scalability, leveraging modern techniques and tools.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues with WordPress products, ensuring seamless functionality across different browsers and devices.
  • Collaborate closely with designers, content creators, and other developers to deliver outstanding products that exceed stakeholder expectations.
  • Stay updated on the latest WordPress trends, tools, and best practices, particularly in theme development, Gutenberg block development, block themes, and Gutenberg patterns.
  • Ensure products adhere to accessibility standards and guidelines to make them usable and navigable for all users, including those with disabilities.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Development, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • 5 years of experience as a FullStack WordPress developer:
    • WordPress theme and plugin development, with a strong understanding of modern development practices.
    • Strong grasp of PHP, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, JavaScript, and MySQL.
    • Knowledge of how to interact with RESTful APIs and formats.
    • Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap and modern JavaScript libraries/frameworks like React.
  • Experience building custom Gutenberg blocks, block themes, and Gutenberg patterns to extend the functionality of WordPress products.
  • Knowledge of SEO best practices and techniques to ensure products are optimized for search engines.
  • Experience with accessibility standards and guidelines, ensuring products are usable and navigable for all users.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (Git).
  • Experience setting up development environments.
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services is preferred.
  • Experience with Wordpress VIP platform is preferred

This role can be based in a US remote approved location; working east coast hours.

At IDG we are committed to fair and equitable pay practices. Expected salary, dependent upon experience and location is between $125,000 and $140,000.00 USD which includes base and bonus (if applicable).
