Tempting Recruitment are working alongside our client, a Local Authority, who are looking to recruit an experienced IT Delivery Lead to join their team based in the Gloucestershire area.

JOB DETAILS

  • PAY RATE: £500 Per Day Umbrella
  • WORK TYPE: Temporary
  • WORK PATTERN: Full Time
  • LOCATION: Gloucestershire (1 day a week in the office)

Job Description

The duties and responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Oversee the timely, cost-effective, and high-quality completion of one or more complex technical IT implementations by adhering to technical and architectural standards, keeping the Head of Digital Strategy & Transformation informed, and finally completing the implementation(s) successfully.
  • Observe financial rules and regulations while managing the budgets assigned to their technical implementations. Keep track of actual and projected spending within predetermined bounds and notify the Head of Digital Strategy & Transformation of any deviations as needed.
  • In order to support well-informed decision making, lead the business in exploring options, fully costing them, determining the best technically feasible solution, and defining measurable and realistic benefits (including appointing appropriate benefit owners and putting in place suitable benefit realisation plans).
  • Create, manage, and carry out a comprehensive, practical, and deliverable end-to-end technical implementation plan that identifies critical milestones, dependencies, resource requirements, the critical path, and related assumptions in accordance with any overarching departmental plans (if applicable). This includes any standalone contingency, transition, testing, and/or training plans.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies:

  • Experience in a change-oriented IT delivery lead (or comparable) role with in-depth understanding of the concepts, procedures, strategies, and instruments related to the use of sophisticated technical solutions and how to use them for maximum impact and quantifiable gain.
  • Adept at finding solutions to issues, questioning conventional wisdom, and presenting creative ideas in a way that encourages well-informed decision-making.
  • Proof of having established and maintained productive working connections with stakeholders at all levels
  • Evidence of effective risk and issue management within a technical system implementation context.
