Your missions

Are you that professional consultant who supports surgeons and distributors by attending live operations in operating theatres for promotional (demonstration) or educational (training) activities related to DORC equipment? Are you familiar with cross selling? And do you have experience in providing onsite technical service? Then read on and become one of our Clinical Application Specialist - UK Midlands/North West.


Main responsibilities:

  • Train the D.O.R.C. end users (surgeons and nursing staff) within the region to be able to safely use D.O.R.C. products both on the service and application side and follow on meeting their training commitments;
  • Support when needed installation of the surgical equipment at the site;
  • Demonstrate when required the equipment and its applications to doctors and hospital staff and do the cross selling if possible for our instruments and liquids;
  • Stay up to date with new instruments, disposables and new surgical techniques;
  • Report results of installation / demonstration / training to Regional Director;
  • Report complaints to the Regional Director and Headquarter Application Specialist;
  • Report technical defects to the Regional Director and Headquarter Application Specialist;
  • Report activities of competition to the Regional Director and Headquarter Application Specialist;
  • Installation of hardware, backup systems, software, including overnight deliveries when required;
  • Technical support and field repair of all D.O.R.C. machines, solving first line defects;
  • Make use of skills to promote and introduce new D.O.R.C. products to existing and new clients;
  • Attendance of local activities if needed such as workshops and congresses;
  • Follow up with distributors to make sure that they’re compliant in terms of service agreement they signed with D.O.R.C. (having spare parts, well trained service technicians, software upgrades if needed and use of DocuSign).


Skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Medical Sales or Clinical Applications role;
  • Experience in Ophthalmology highly advantageous;
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferable;
  • Report possible sales leads to the Regional Director;
  • Report complaints to the Regional Director and Headquarter Application Specialist;
  • Report technical defects to the Regional Director and Headquarter Application Specialist;
  • Report activities of competition to the Regional Director and Headquarter Application Specialist;
  • Identify and report possible key opinion leaders to the Regional Director and Headquarter Application Specialist;
  • Report input of KOL to the Regional Director;
  • Test and check equipment for technical specifications and support the distributors in filling/checking the tenders specification sheets;
  • Willing to spend at least 20% of his time travelling as required across the UK;
  • Very good communication skills, self-motivated and be able to work independently;
  • Service oriented and familiar with operating theater protocol (how to react in the OT)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • Excellent training and presentation skills;
  • A team player with a strong desire to meet customer needs.
