Job Summary

As a Sr. Consulting Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality solutions that meet the unique requirements of our clients in the Fortune 1000 . You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to ensure the successful execution of agile projects.

This role will report to the Manager of Digital Professional Services within the Stratascale department.

This position is remote with a Home Office setup as determined by Stratascale management.

Responsibilities

Include, but not limited to:

  • Architecting and implementing scalable and robust solutions using cloud-native services
  • Planning and executing large-scale multi-workload application migrations to Public Cloud following multiple migration patterns (e.g., Rehost, Re-platform, Refactor)
  • Implementing enterprise-scale automation platforms (e.g., Ansible, Terraform, GitLab, GitHub, Jenkins)
  • Collaborating with clients to understand their technical needs and translating them into user stories and detailed requirements while operating within the bounds of a defined Statement of Work (SOW)
  • Utilizing cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to architect and deploy scalable, secure, and highly available solutions.
  • Providing technical leadership to junior engineers (internal and partner) on best practices, well-architected principles, and cloud service capabilities/limitations with ownership of the overall quality of the delivered solution.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to continuously enhancing development practices.
  • Developing reusable blueprints, templates, scaffolding, and runbooks to streamline and automate everyday repeated activities and solutions in client projects.
  • Staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or M aster’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years minimum experience in cloud, platform engineering, DevOps, and operations with a proven track record building complex applications for clients.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, Azure DevOps)

Required Skills

  • Deep technical hands-on skills with one or more Public & Private Cloud (GCP required, AWS and/or Azure are a plus) technologies such as configuration, architecture, migration planning, execution, cloud-native application design, cloud networking, etc.
  • Experience working in agile methodologies with agile project tools (Scrum, Kanban, Jira, GitHub , Git L ab).
  • Familiarity with one or more databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL, DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, Cassandra
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong understanding of cloud services architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems.
  • Self-motivated individual who works well as part of a team and independently, able to self-manage their workload to ensure timely completion of projects .
  • Customer-obsessed mindset, demonstrating empathy and putting the client experience at the center of your work .
  • Experience working with client-facing teams to gather requirements and provide technical insights.
  • Experience in several of the following domains:
    • Multi-cloud architecture and automation expertise , with Cloud Management, Infrastructure as Code, or Automation Platforms
    • DevOps pipeline architecture and implementation
    • Building terraform code and Ansible playbooks for infrastructure automation
    • Cloud governance
    • Cloud cost optimization / FinOps
    • Observability experience, including monitoring, IT operations management, CMDB, SRE, etc.
    • Kubernetes and containerization
    • Event streaming and API management
    • Application modernization/application development in Java, .NET, or other primary enterprise language, with experience in AWS, Azure, or GCP native services (e.g., functions, managed databases )
Certifications Required

If one of the below mandatory certifications is not currently held, the successful candidate will be required to obtain at least one within 90 days of commencing the role:

  • Google Cloud Architect Professional

Unique Requirements

  • Position requires travel (up to 10% annually) for internal meetings, partner meetings, tradeshows, and conferences .
  • Periodically, position may require travel (up to 40% annually) to deliver services onsite for client engagements .

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $180,000 - $240,000 which includes a base salary and bonus. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
