Sr. Renewables Regulatory Analyst - Energy Storage (BESS)

Locations: FULLY REMOTE (Anywhere in the USA)


This an opportunity to join an industry leading renewable energy venture and IPP with strong private equity backing that is focused on the development/execution of dynamic utility-scale energy storage projects. They are at the forefront of the industry, have accumulated over 9GW+ of projects in a relatively short period of time, and are currently in an accelerated expansion phase.

The Sr. Regulatory Analyst will support a first class scalable NERC/ISO corporate and operational compliance program.  This is a critical role for the organization that works directly with the company's Asset Management and Legal Team on driving a holistic approach to compliance management across a utility-scale energy storage portfolio.

Experience with ERCOT based assets is a HUGE PLUS but this is a nationwide scope of operations that encompasses utility-scale renewables Corporate, Project Development, O&M, and Asset Management responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Sr. Renewables Regulatory Analyst / Contracts Analyst - develops and implements tactical corporate and operational plans for NERC/ISO compliance management in line with asset based annual operating goals (short-term & long term)  
  • Sr. Renewables Regulatory Analyst / Contracts Analyst - leads the contract management process with a focus on assessing NERC and FERC specific compliance obligations for project development and operations initiatives
  • Sr. Renewables Regulatory Analyst / Contracts Analyst - acts as the key stakeholder with Legal, Asset Management, Risk Management, and 3rd party Compliance Contractors to ensure alignment on the operational compliance needs of the energy storage portfolio
  • Sr. Renewables Regulatory Analyst / Contracts Analyst - helps support incident/accident investigations including root cause analysis, corrective action initiatives and devises company standards on non-compliance resolutions
  • Sr. Renewables Regulatory Analyst / Contracts Analyst - plays a key role in the registering new assets for ISO market participation
  • Sr. Renewables Regulatory Analyst / Contracts Analyst - represents the company's interest with all major compliance and regulatory bodies ISO/RTOs (ERCOT...ISONE...etc)


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3-7+ years of corporate compliance and operational NERC/FERC/ISO compliance for operations for renewable energy electric transmission systems
  • Corporate asset based operational compliance experience dealing with utility-scale solar, wind, battery storage or energy storage projects; ERCOT experience is a HUGE PLUS
  • Strong track record developing/implementing contract management compliance programs that deal with NERC, FERC, Public Utility Commissions (PUCs) and other Reliability organization standards, operating policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Well versed in compliance resolution and root cause analysis for compliance break downs
  • Experience with and knowledge of current ISO/RTO standards, operating policies, procedures, and guidelines preferred
  • An understanding of national energy power markets - PJM, ERCOT, SPP, MISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, and WECC is beneficial
  • Candidates may have held Mid-Senior titles such as: Sr. Regulatory Analyst, Sr. Compliance Analyst, Sr. Contracts Analyst, Sr. Contract Management Specialist, Sr. NERC Compliance Advisor, NERC Compliance Lead, Compliance Engineer, Regulatory Associate, Compliance Associate
