Position Overview

Evernest is currently seeking a Senior Accountant. This position will report directly to the Accounting Manager and manage a direct report while owning the execution and improvement of several key workflows in the department.

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for executing several key accounting functions each month and be actively involved in the monthly close function. This role will also create, maintain, and improve documentation for each of their managed functions.

This position oversees the leading, management and development of Staff level team members so supervisory experience is a plus. The Senior Accountant will be an active participant in the weekly team objective meeting to discuss progress on key department strategic and operational targets while assisting with problem solving for the department.

The position will include a mix of strategic and technical work and involves collaboration with the accounting & operations team at the company. The role requires strong general ledger accounting knowledge, technical prowess in spreadsheet software, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage 1-2 reports around tactical objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and provide managerial review to Staff Accountants
  • Lead small team in continuous improvement of key accounting functions
  • Own the weekly and monthly execution of several key accounting/close workflows
  • Own the improvement and ongoing maintenance of accounting processes and workflows
  • Participate in weekly team objective meetings and quarterly objective setting
  • Collaborate with other departments to improve operational efficiency/communication
  • Support accounting team with ad hoc projects and first line problem solving and research


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 2+ years of experience in managing Staff Accountants
  • 4+ years of general ledger accounting experience
  • High proficiency in spreadsheet software
  • High proficiency in accounting software
