Job Description

Block has an exciting career opportunity for a Strategic Sourcing Manager based in Australia (Remote) to support the Technology,Marketing, Product, BPO & Professional Services (HR, Finance, Consulting) category. This is a chance for an experienced Strategic Sourcing and Category Leader Professional. You will focus on supporting insource-outsource programs and adoption of the source-to-pay process through system optimization and proactive partner outreach along with sourcing management, contract management, and negotiation support where applicable. You will report to a Sourcing Lead within Procurement.  We ask that you have a continuous improvement philosophy, management skills, and the ability to share thoughtful education with important partners while maintaining receptiveness with important collaborators on best practices and market trends.

You Will:

  • Lead Insource-Outsource Programs and guide RFX’s, Contract Negotiations and help improve APAC Procurement initiative.

  • Oversee the selection/negotiation/management/purchasing for large category groups and multiple smaller suppliers or sub-categories as a necessary contributor/leader. 

  • Work with Procurement and leaders to implement category strategies. 

  • Support Block leadership strategic planning efforts, focusing on sourcing (through the best sourcing methodologies), contract negotiation, buying, and risk mitigation strategy. 

  • Oversee complex, Block-wide supplier relations, developing solutions to new problems and using your foresight to anticipate future trends and issues. 

  • Lead a network of other authorities, building agreement. You are responsible for and will project manage Important Category Supplier Relationship QBRs to ensure Block is receiving agreed to services based on main Service level agreements and Performance Indicators.

  • Model collaboration skills and have a noticeable positive impact on the velocity and success of your teammates. 

  • Develop selection/negotiation criteria, establish purchasing goals, coordinate resources, and provide category leadership following long-term buying goals. 

  • Uphold, champion, and exemplify the Block values. 

  • Will support partners around APAC including Australia, New Zealand and Japan.

Qualifications

You Have:

  • Minimum 7 years of Procurement/Strategic Sourcing experience.  

  • Bachelor’s degree. 

  • Experience depth with Source-to-Contract and Procure-to-Pay Practices

  • Experience using Procurement Tools such as SCOUT, COUPA, Oracle, etc.
