The Director of Site Operations and CRO will be responsible for owning and operating an app and site experience with conversion rate optimization as the main KPI for defining experiences in partnership with cross-functional teams.  They will manage the day-to-day relationship with shared J.Crew Group internal product and development teams partnering to prioritize development efforts on behalf of Madewell. They will manage the on-going 3rd party vendor relationships ensuring we are leveraging and optimizing their capabilities to support our key business objectives. They will manage the day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring that they are up eliminating barriers to purchase for the customer. Key success to this role will be to work closely with the VP of Ecommerce and other cross functional partners (Merchandising, Creative, Marketing) on understanding the business needs to support site features, site and app content strategy, personalization and manage toward timelines for proper execution and go live. They will also plan and manage a rigorous testing roadmap to further support long term development projects and understand the key site opportunities. They will be the advocate for the Madewell customer, understanding their shopping journey and continuing to optimize the experience using data to support their decision making.

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive CRO strategy, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful experiences that meet business objectives for the website and app.
  • Provide data driven analysis to support roadmap efforts and prioritization.
  • Partner cross functionally to identify high value feature enhancement opportunities and site/app content strategy based on merchandising and/or marketing strategies and partner with digital product teams to determine best path forward to execute goals.
  • Manage the day to day site operations, QA’ing experiences and removing barriers to purchase.
  • Optimize 3rd party apps and features once delivered, managing the on-going relationships and ensuring optimizing their product to support Madewell’s objectives.
  • Partner with marketing teams to help determine optimal landing page experiences that optimize traffic and conversion opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the site merchandising team to ensure optimal presentation of products and categories.
  • Develop a testing and learning culture and drive the testing agenda of the site focusing on overall conversion rate and general UX improvements tied to site performance.
  • Manage relationships with internal digital product and UX/UI teams.
  • Manage internal business team UAT process and partner with digital product team that all high priority comments are addressed prior to go live.
  • Maintain market knowledge and keep abreast of market trends.
  • Develop long term roadmap in partnership with VP of Ecommerce and Digital product teams.

Salary Range: $152,800.00 - $191,000.00

The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region of work premises, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.  The base salary is just one component of J.Crew Group’s competitive total rewards strategy that also includes the opportunity for bonus, competitive benefits and perks.
