Job Description

The Bid Manager will be part of the DoC ITO European team.
This is a remote role.
You must be based in, and eligible to work in, Europe.
 

What does the day-today look like?

The Bid Manager is accountable for managing a portfolio of opportunities from qualification through to contract award, including value proposition, strategy development, solution development, commercial considerations, partner identification and risk management. 

  • Work with the Sales team to develop a strategy. 
  • Build the plan and ensure resources are allocated from support functions. 

  • Ensure alignment and adherence of the broader team to the strategy. 

  • Review specifications and documentation to understand the project requirements and assess against the strategy. 

  • Take overall responsibility for the creation of the proposal and any other supporting documentation. Consolidate and review. 

  • Be accountable for submission in time

  • Drive the team through the negotiation steps with customer until contract signature and hand over to the execution team. 

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team to develop solid and competitive proposals

  • Manage the budget, drive smart cost optimization and overall competitiveness

  • Work with the Contracts Team on negotiation support

  • Ensure all proposal records are completed and updated  

Qualifications

What skills and background will you likely have?

  • Masters degree in engineering
  • Bid/Proposal Management experience in international industrial and municipal B2B transactions with a heavy technology or services component. 
  • Knowledge of the water and waste water industry and its relevant technologies 
  • Fluent in English (oral and written) – able to present complex cases with ease in English 
  • Availability to travel on business as required
  • Great communicator. 
  • Good business acumen and presence
  • At ease with matrix environments 
  • Proactive, action oriented and used to working against financial targets
