Overview: xScion seeks a skilled Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain complex software applications throughout the development cycle. You will leverage your expertise in object-oriented design and various technologies, including Java, Angular, and AWS, to solve challenging problems and deliver high-quality solutions.
Location: Remote (United States)
As a Software Engineer, You Will:
- Provide application software development services or technical support
- Perform analysis, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, implementing and maintaining software applications
- Ensure successful implementation of system improvements
- Work independently with minimal guidance and accountability for own work
- Use best practices to solve moderate to complex business or technical problems
- Interpret user requirements and identify additional necessary information
- Anticipate future requirements and propose coding solutions accordingly
- Assist with design and evaluation options to determine optimal solutions
- Continuously improve code base through skilled refactoring
- Evaluate and discuss the need for tools for continuous integration, testing, IDE automation, and deployment
- Design tests for code for third-party software
- Keep documentation up to date and contribute to the knowledge repository
- Assist with project planning by identifying necessary tasks and providing solid estimates to improve the project plan
To Be Successful, You Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 6+ years of experience in Software Engineering or a similar role
- Expertise in object-oriented (OO) design and development with a comprehensive understanding of OO design patterns and practices
- Hands-on experience in relevant programming technologies such as Java, Angular, and the AWS technology stack
- Proficiency in test-driven development (TDD) practices
- Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD)
- Proficiency in database or content management system query, design, and development
- Database or content management system expertise
- Advanced proficiency in relevant front-end programming technologies and frameworks
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to act as a valuable resource for colleagues, potentially leading small projects
- The ability to deliver high-quality software through the entire development lifecycle, including analyzing requirements, designing logic, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, implementing, and maintaining applications
- US citizenship is required for this position.
