Your missions

Employee Engagement Manager

6-month Fixed Term Contract. Full time - 40 hours per week

Fully remote role, but with monthly travel to HQ in South West Scotland

Salary - £45,000 - £50,000 per annum (dependent upon experience)

About HALO:

The HALO Trust is the world’s largest and oldest international humanitarian mine action non-government organisation (NGO). For over thirty years, we have been saving lives and helping war-torn communities recover, by making their land safe. Our mission is to protect lives and restore the livelihoods of those affected by conflict.

HALO is known for its work to clear landmines, but we also lead on dealing with unexploded ordnance, from bullets to aircraft bombs, and we educate communities to keep them safe. In addition, we build safe arms stores and systems for securing guns. HALO was established in Afghanistan in 1988 and now employs over 12,000 staff in 30 countries and territories.

About the role:

Due to an internal promotion, we are currently looking for an Employment Engagement Manager for a 6-month fixed term contract to implement our employee engagement strategy across our global programmes and HQ teams, embedding our core values and standards.

Reporting in to the Head of Employee Engagement, you will also support improving our culture, working environment and employee value proposition through our employee survey, well-being initiatives and recognition practices and harness and share the current passion and energy within HALO to motivate and engage worldwide teams.

During the 6-month fixed term contract, we would be looking for the successful candidate to support the global roll out of our employee survey across all programmes, contribute to reviewing and improving the performance appraisal, talent management and induction processes, as well as to design, develop and deliver HR content related e-learning and face to face training workshops.

All of this focusing on delivering a great colleague engagement experience.

Requirements

The role of Employee Engagement Manager is to support the delivery of a consistent, inclusive engagement strategy, promoting a positive working culture and environment. Continuous improvement, stakeholder management and delivering excellence are key to success.

Who we’re looking for

  • Previous experience of designing and leading employee engagement strategies and evidence of successful implementation.
  • Previous experience in designing and delivering HR content related e-learning and face to face training workshops.

  • Project management qualification or experience is desirable.
  • You’ll have a keen eye for detail, ensuring your work is accurate.
  • You’ll be resilient with the ability to adapt in a complex, fast-paced, changing environment.
  • An excellent communicator who can build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
  •  Being organised comes as second nature to you, managing many spinning plates all at the same time is a challenge that doesn’t faze you.
