Position Overview

The Market Access Strategy, Senior Manager supports medical policy coverage initiatives and contracting strategies with major national and regional payers and medical groups within the U.S. Market. The position supports Market Access strategy and implementation on a national level. This role will focus on supporting rare disease genetics; however, it may also include new products that span the portfolio. This position must effectively collaborate across various product functions and will work closely with our Market Access department, as well as various enabling functions. This role provides strategic leadership to cross-functional teams by working to define clear and realistic goals and developing a clear management view of assigned projects and how they fit into the strategic landscape and understanding of all the skills and tasks associated with successful project execution. 

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide market access strategy support for Prevention Genetics, Rare Disease business.
  • Create and execute market access strategy around payer messaging, payer product dossier development, payer conference messaging/presentations, and payer market research. 
  • Support training efforts to ensure all of Market Access and enabling functions across the organization are well equipped with the knowledge necessary to support their respective roles.   
  • Support the planning, development, and implementation of advisory boards aimed to help drive strategy for product adoption from a market access perspective. 
  • Support strategy for laboratory benefit managers (LBMs), anticipating future trends and opportunities.
  • Direct line of contact for rare disease Market Access needs for securing coverage and contracting.
  • Support the development of a personalized appeal program aimed to drive appeals to the highest level.
  • Plan, develop, and execute internal and external communication strategies for payer outreach around current and future products.
  • Lead cross-functional teams directly and/or indirectly to deliver solutions while managing scope, risks, timeline, resources, and project deliverables.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with stakeholders across the enterprise, including executive leadership.
  • Express a learner mentality striving to become a product expert to support Market Access.
  • Ability to develop a value proposition and effective business case that will influence medical policy.
  • Ability to apply strong understanding of relevant markets and strategies, with multi-disciplinary background by education and/or experience, including strong analysis and management skills.
  • Ability to apply strong interpersonal skills, including strong written, verbal, and presentational communication skills.

  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

  • Ability to work on a mobile device, tablet, or in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability and means to travel between Exact Sciences locations, as well as in the field with Market Access and other remote teams.
  • Ability to travel 15% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.
  • 8+ years of work experience in sales, marketing, diagnostics, pharmaceutical, or related field.
  • Experience working in rare disease and oncology.
  • 5+ years of work experience in market access/reimbursement.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as PowerPoint and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in related field.
  • Strong sense of teamwork and collaborative focus that inspires confidence within the organization and external partners.
  • Experience managing multiple overlapping deadlines and workstreams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, and Tableau.
  • Experience working in a matrix management organization with primary responsibility for success while relying on a team of resources which may or may not be direct reports.
  • Demonstrated experience in risk management, change management, and strategic planning.

Salary Range:

$129,000.00 - $208,000.00

 

The annual base salary shown is a national range for this position on a full-time basis and may differ by hiring location. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
