Under General Supervision, investigates, evaluates and analyzes automotive damage claims submitted by Club members to determine cause, cost of repair, total claims liability, and responsibility for payment. Coordinates the internal processing of claims and serves as the internal contact between internal and external stakeholders. Using established procedures promptly resolves claims in a fair and equitable manner for the Club, Members, and Contract Garages. Concludes extent of company's liability and attempts to effect out-of-court settlement with claimant. Analyzes claims trends and makes recommendations for claims resolution improvements.

What you will do:

  • Analyzes relevant information that has been obtained by Auto Damage Assessors. Evaluates damages to ascertain compensation amount. Negotiates with claimants and contract garages to settle claims.
  • Reviews claims for irregularities, accuracy and completeness. Requests additional information, where necessary, for completion of claim processing. Reviews claims for eligibility. Maintains updated records and prepares required reports. Assists in claims cost control. Contacts individuals about claims and may provide counsel regarding the amount of benefits. Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Interfaces extensively with the Club’s Auto Damage Assessor, Contract Garages, Fleet, Field Service Representatives, Members, insurance carriers and attorneys to determine the cause of the claim, party responsible and communication of how the claim will be resolved to the Member. Works to mediate settlement options or agreements that are usually binding and protect the club.
  • Documents all activity on each claim filed at the time of the activity. Ensures that all claims files are complete and up to date at all times. Serves as the internal contact for the claims resolution process. Ensures all claims are resolved promptly and fairly. Coordinates the exchange of information with member's and/or garage's Insurance Company to facilitate resolution of claims. In the event of a total loss, determines the salvage value of the vehicle.

 

Hours: Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm

Pay Range: $26.50 - $30.00 per hour

Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma or GED Required Associate's Degree Automotive, Business Required

Experience

3 to 5 years experience in the automotive services industry, towing background preferred, but mechanical, auto body and other related experience acceptable Required Insurance experience helpful Required

Licenses and Certifications

Adjuster's/appraiser’s license required in all AAA Northeast areas as applicable. Required If successful candidate does not possess a license upon hire, acquisition of a license is necessary. Required
