Collections Specialist (Bilingual Spanish & English)

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Collections Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of collections procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively. 

Responsibilities:

• Review and monitor overdue accounts.
• Analyze customer accounts and payment history to determine appropriate collection strategies.
• Contact customers via phone, email, and other communication channels to discuss overdue payments.
• Negotiate and establish payment arrangements with customers.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers while firming up commitments for payments.
• Provide assistance and information to customers regarding their accounts.
• Keep detailed records of all communication with customers.
• Update account information, payment plans, and collection efforts in the system.
• Provide receipts and confirmation of payments to customers.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to customer accounts.
• Collaborate with other departments to address customer concerns.
• Prepare and provide regular reports on the status of collections efforts.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines governing collections practices.
• Handle customer inquiries and concerns professionally and promptly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience as a Collections Specialist, Billing Clerk or similar roles.
• Familiarity with billing software and accounting procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experienced with Google Calendar, Google Meet, Acuity, and Gmail. 
• Own Laptop or Desktop (8GB RAM, Core i5 or above & Microsoft Office) with an internet connection of at least 10 Mbps.
• Time Flexibility: Willing to work on Pacific Standard Time (CST) schedule.
