Position Description: 
Supports Mission Services training initiatives by being an effective facilitator and community liaison, identifying appropriate job seekers to provide intensive services, and conducting training to meet program standards. Assists job seekers with the development of career plans and course selection. While working from a Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) or Goodwill Industries of Monocacy Valley (GIMV) location in Arizona and Maryland, serves internal and external customers both face-to-face and remotely via telephone, chat feature, email, and other electronic forms of communication. Career Coaches will work with participants who could be at any stage in their careers or learning: Entering the workforce for the first time, career transitions, seasoned professionals, managers, or executives. Coaches will work to determine the appropriate services using activities such as those listed below:


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1.    Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality, seamless customer service. 
2.    Works with leadership to ensure grant and Mission Services budgets are met and maintained.

3. Assist participants through one-on-one appointments or walk-ins to determine career and learning goals

4. Assists in identifying barriers and goals. Manage progress and advise participants on their career milestones with Career Success Plans

5. Promote learning and focused outcomes to move toward results, perspectives, and/or new understandings

6. Review and give feedback to improve resumes, cover letters, and interview skill

7. Coach participants in career exploration and in navigating job applications 8. Career Coaches offer career services to internal team members within GCNA. Our Retail Stores and Retail Donation Centers are exposed to a variety of environmental elements where teams are inspecting donated merchandise, analyzing quality, and determining proper category, size, and cleaning at a fast-paced

9.     Acts as a liaison between internal clients and community agencies.
10.   Works with the Community Awareness Partner and leader to identify appropriate community partners to increase the pipeline of job seekers for training and Mission Services programs.  

11. Coach participants on enhancing mechanical/technical or essential skills
12.    Serves as a GCNA ambassador to the community.
13.    Provides guidance and virtual career coaching for MyCareerAdvisor.com.
14.    Develop and implement individual career success plans in partnership with job seekers.
15.    In collaboration with training, prepare training materials and resources for participants of training programs
16.    Facilitates and conducts classroom and virtual training for program participants.
17.    Supports contact center with all job functions related to the business.
18.    Assists in Career Centers other than designated office locations, as needed.
19.    Models Goodwill Core Values – Trust, Collaboration, Engagement, Ownership, and Innovation
20.    Performs other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Some College preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 2-3 years of related experience preferred
  • Demonstrates professionalism, business acumen, and a drive to follow through and execute business needs
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Google Drive
  • Ability to produce documents written with clearly organized thoughts using proper sentence construction, punctuation, and grammar
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently, Bilingual a plus
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position
  • Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand others, reframing where required and using appropriate terminology
  • Demonstrates powerful questioning to identify not just facts but possibilities
  • Ability to take care of internal and external customers’ needs while following established procedures
  • Ability to work through high-speed engagement and produce quality work  
  • Ability to bring a sense of urgency to the performance of a task  
  • Ability to show consideration for and maintain good relations with others and changing directives
  • Ability to make critical decisions while following established procedures
