Job Description:

As a Business Development Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in our team by connecting with potential clients and setting the stage for meaningful relationships. We're seeking someone with a knack for sales appointment-setting strategies and a genuine understanding of the New Zealand market.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and research potential clients or leads within the New Zealand target market.
  • Contact potential clients through various communication channels such as phone calls, emails, or social media messages.
  • Determine the suitability and interest of prospects by asking relevant questions and assessing their needs.
  • Coordinate and schedule appointments or meetings between potential clients and sales representatives.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of interactions, appointments, and client information in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Maintain regular communication with prospects to nurture relationships, address questions or concerns, and ensure commitment to scheduled appointments.
  • Work closely with the sales team to align strategies, provide appointment updates, and facilitate the handover of qualified leads.
  • Provide feedback on the effectiveness of outreach strategies, the quality of leads, and any challenges encountered during the appointment-setting process.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and best practices in appointment setting to improve performance and results.
  • Meet or exceed targets for the number of appointments scheduled and the conversion rate of leads into sales opportunities.

Desirable Skills and Experience: 

Must-haves:
  • In-depth knowledge of the New Zealand/Kiwi market and the ability to adapt sales methods to cater to a small and discerning market.
  • Experience working with New Zealand clients or companies.
  • Familiarity with other cybersecurity markets outside of New Zealand.
  • Proven track record of successful sales cold calls and appointment setting.
  • Familiarity with the sales process and ability to navigate through it efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated self-starter mentality with the drive to achieve targets.
  • Innovative mindset with a creative approach to appointment setting.
  • Ability to bring fresh ideas to improve the effectiveness of sales outreach strategies.
  • Proficient in using LinkedIn Sales Navigator to identify and connect with potential clients.
  • Strong understanding of leveraging LinkedIn for business development purposes.
  • A happy and kind disposition with a positive attitude.
  • Receptive to feedback and a willingness to continuously improve.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to tailor communication styles to different audiences.
  • High-stress tolerance and resilience. 
  • Excellent organizational skills with a solid work ethic. 
  • Coachable with a positive attitude. 
Nice to haves:
  • Any relevant certifications in sales or cybersecurity.
  • Strong networking skills within cybersecurity or related industries.
  • Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Comfortable using various digital tools and technologies for efficient sales processes.
  • Prior experience working in the cybersecurity industry or related field.

Salary: 
  • Competitive rate awaits the successful candidate plus commissions. The compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and performance.
