WHAT YOU'LL DO

Where ideas become reality, our Plant Operations team works diligently to ensure our refreshing, flavorful products make it safely and soundly into their bottles so that you can open one wherever you may be. The QA Lab Technician position is a great way to kick off your food science career! Helps us check to make sure our products are meeting standards, and learn more about what goes into making our delicious beverages!

Report to: Quality Assurance Manager

Direct Reports: N/A

Base Hourly Rate: $22/hour + shift differential for hours worked outside of 1st shift

Discretionary Bonus Potential: Up to $450 bi-annually. Eligibility is based on Plant and Company profitability.

Location: Onsite at our Preston, WA plant 5 days a week

Core Hours: Sunday - Thursday, 9:00 pm - 5:30 am (Start and end times are subject to change due to evolving business need)

Note: Training hours will differ from Core Hours and will take place on 1st Shift, Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. Exceptions can be made due to the availability of the applicant.

  • Monitor attributes of the finished product and evaluate its sensory to determine whether that product meets a set of standards.

  • Record required data accurately and promptly.  Often using computer software to record and analyze data.

  • Conduct daily sampling and inspection of water treatment, and wastewater to determine if they meet set specifications.

  • Collect and test samples of raw materials and finished products.

  • Collect and perform micro-testing on wastewater samples, water treatment samples, finished products, rinse samples, and packaging samples.

  • Maintains the cleanliness of test equipment, utensils, and laboratory in accordance with standard food laboratory techniques, methods, and requirements.

  • Assists with syrup batching.

  • Perform and document pre-operational inspection at startup and product change-over.

  • Cross Train as a QA batcher to assist in batching and cover for vacation relief.

  • Perform CIP/ COP procedures on the batching, blending, and filling equipment.

  • Complies with and enforces all GLPs (Good Laboratory Practices), and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).

  •  Ensure food safety, quality, and SQF practices are followed at all times, notifying the immediate manager of any food safety and quality issues.

  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Biology, microbiology or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.

  • Ability to accommodate overtime, occasionally working other shifts and weekends.

  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs. repetitively and up to 75 lbs. occasionally, as well as to push and pull up to 100 lbs. regularly
