Job Description

We’re recruiting for Medical Claims Assessors to join us in our Group Protection department. Working on either a hybrid basis in our Hove office or completely Homebased, With a salary of up to £42,000 depending on experience.  

    What you'll be doing:

    • You’ll provide pro-active and comprehensive claims assessment and management services for a defined account portfolio, and checking liability with your authority level
    • Assessing and triaging Group Protection claims, deciding what medical evidence to obtain in line with L&G’s philosophies
    • Providing a comprehensive assessment of Group Protection claims and determining liability, while meeting the expectations of our clients and stakeholders
    • Cultivating effective relationships with IFA’s and Policyholders (employers), to maximise the effectiveness of our benefit management processes, including the provision of support for the portfolio management of defined schemes
    • Assisting in the provision of Management Data on portfolio accounts which analyses performance and identifies key trends
    • Training, mentoring, and developing other members of the claims team
    • Developing processes that deliver compliant and consistent levels of service, such that our customer and client expectations are met

    Qualifications

    • Understanding of medical conditions and the effect these can have on someones ability to work
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills; analytical and risk management skills; ability to be creative and strategic thinking
    • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite and IT savvy
    • Strong claims medical assessment skills
