Overview

As an Assistant Vice President on the CT&A KYC Quality Assurance Team, you would help protect Deutsche Bank from financial and reputational losses incurred by financial crimes by assessing, detecting, investigating, and reporting on financial crime risks (Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions & Embargoes (S&E), Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC), and Anti-Fraud) to stakeholders. As an AVP on the team, you will be primarily responsible for conducting reviews of sampled KYC files to identifying any exceptions to the relevant Deutsche Bank policies and procedures or regulatory requirements. You will also be accountable for accurately completing the assigned quality assurance reviews within the prescribed timeline along with maintaining robust workpapers and supporting materials for each quality assurance review. Additionally, you will be responsible for presenting the results to stakeholders in a concise and well-written manner that fully supports the exceptions identified during the review. Furthermore, you will be a key collaborator within the CT&A and with stakeholders in the First, Second, or Third Line of Defense ( 1LoD, 2LoD , and 3LoD) to build and maintain strong relationships with all parties.

What You’ll Do

  • Validate completeness and accuracy of KYC and SAE files using independent research, reviewing the supporting documentation and ensure the narratives address all risk factors and their final disposition is rational and can be fully understood by a third party (i.e. Internal/External Audit, Regulators, etc.)

  • Assess whether KYC and SAE quality assurance (QA) assessments are reasonable and identify patterns of deficient investigations which may impact the effectiveness of the financial crime risks in line with regulatory expectations and the Bank’s Financial Crime Risk Framework standards defined in the relevant policies and procedures

  • Present findings/exceptions to Team Leads and relevant stakeholders in a concise and well-written manner that fully supports the risk identified during the review, and provide clarification to Team Leads and stakeholders regarding an identified exception to assist them in making the necessary corrections

  • Meet QA Production goals in addition to meeting quality standards for reviewing KYC QA files

  • Collaborate with the various teams in 1LoD and AFC to ensure synergy and proper communication of various internal processes, and maintain a thorough comprehension of internal KYC Policy and procedural requirements relating to clients across the Deutsche Bank lines of business

  • Keep abreast of new laws, regulations, and policies in identifying potential areas of risk within KYC file assessments, and assist on special projects and other efforts in conducting other Quality Assurance Program requirements, as needed

Skills You’ll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Relevant experience in AML/KYC role, preferably as a KYC/EDD analyst or a QA/Testing officer

  • BSA/AML Quality Assurance experience and/or knowledge of financial products/services offered by Wealth Management and/or Corporate and Investment Banking business lines

  • Ability to identify, escalate and communicate issues to management in an effective and succinct manner, and effective decision-making skills and strong problem-solving skills

  • Good understanding and application of relevant global AML & KYC regulation and legislation (including but not limited to; the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), USA PATRIOT Act, FinCEN CDD Rule, German AML Act, the German Banking Act, 3rd AML EU Directive, 4th AML EU Directive and other supporting regulations)

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • Good team player with the ability to manage the team’s workload and their own, and strong interpersonal skills

  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills (using templates, merge files, manage data on tables, and understand some basic macros)

  • An understanding of the legal and compliance issues of complex banking organizations and correspondent banking and Wealth Management experience

  • Knowledge of Internal Deutsche Bank KYC Systems

  • CAMS certification or equivalent and Portuguese/Spanish language proficiency is a plus

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Jacksonville, Fl office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Jacksonville is $75,000 to $ 110,750. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of renumeration.
