About the job:

We are currently seeking AI Database Interns for a challenging experience based Internship to contribute to an innovative and groundbreaking project in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Are you passionate about AI and looking to make your mark in the industry? Come join our dynamic team as we push the boundaries and create a game changer in the world of AI. You will have the unique opportunity to participate in a fully immersive internship where you will be managing vast datasets of voice and driving efficient data pipelining and ETL practices. This is designed largely as a remote placement however can also be a hybrid internship (Chicago or Toronto). In this engagement/applied learning internship you'll gain unparalleled experience in a high-growth, dynamic environment, directly interfacing with senior management and largely different from any other internship. It will be a demanding internship and will require you to bring the best version of yourself to the table, but for those who embrace this, it will be a richly rewarding experience as well as a great compliment to your academic investment.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient database solutions.
• Optimize database systems for performance and reliability.
• Implement, maintain, and test database backup and recovery strategies.
• Collaborate with other team members to improve the existing database infrastructure.
• Provide support for database issues and performance tuning.
• Ensure data integrity and security in database systems.
• Contribute to the documentation of best practices and technological choices

About You:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Database Engineer or in a similar role.
• Experience in AWS.
• Strong knowledge of database technologies (SQL, NoSQL), database design, and SQL scripting.
• Experience in optimizing database performance and capacity.
• Familiarity with database security, backup, and recovery procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and analytical skills.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Eagerness to innovate and challenge the conventional in the field of databases.
• Experience using Notion.

This is a full-time, paid internship with a minimum commitment of 3 months (520 hours). We do have some flexibility with possible Part-time placements providing it is to accommodate for academic responsibilities or visa restrictions but the total hours required remains the same. With flexibility comes increased responsibility to this and will require a higher concentrated effort in order to be current with projects, align with your team and to extract the value this internship is engineered to award. The compensation will be $32-$35 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
