Senior Software Engineer, Full Stack - Capital One Software (Remote)

Capital One Software is seeking a senior software engineer with subject matter expertise in Security Engineering and/or Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM), preferably in multi-tenant SaaS, Cloud, or IoT situations. This person will join a multi-disciplinary team of full-stack engineers that are driving transformation of how Identity and Access is managed across the line of business. The ideal candidate will have a balance of strong hands-on engineering skills, and domain expertise in CIAM that accelerates the productivity of the team as a whole. In this role, you will be expected to work with distributed teams, pivot under dynamic conditions, and be a driving technical force throughout the software lifecycle.

What You’ll Do: 

• Serve as a CIAM subject matter expert. Provide recommendations on best practices in the field.  Support the team in troubleshooting and assessing tradeoffs between technical alternatives. 

• Help implement the solution using a various of programming languages (e.g. JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, Python, Java, SQL) and technologies (e.g. AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Lambda, Active Directory, IaaS providers, SSO and Federation)  

• Collaborate with and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, deploy and support the project. 

• Present updates to managers, product teams, architects, governance, and cyber security experts

• Share your passion for staying on top of tech trends, experimenting with and learning new technologies, participating in internal & external technology communities, and mentoring other members of the engineering community

• Develop and maintain detailed documentation for internal and external users

Basic Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s Degree

• At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (Internship experience does not apply)

• At least 2 years of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)

• At least 2 years of relevant Security Engineering and/or Identity and Access Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in at least one of the following: Java, Python, or Node.js, 

• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tool sets

• 3+ years of experience in open source frameworks

• 2+ years of experience in Agile practices

• 1+ years of experience with enterprise Identity Management Solutions

• 1+ years of experience with multiple authentication and authorization solutions  as well as directory platforms.

• Experience with design and configuration of third party integrations using SAML and/or OIDC

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Remote (Regardless of Location): $140,000 - $159,800 for Senior Software Engineer

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
