Smart Business Concepts was founded in 2014 by a couple of expats from various "big-name" consulting & accounting firms who didn't feel like they were able to drive maximum value for their clients. To better support startups, small and mid-sized businesses, we realized we needed to start our own shop and offer up practical, honest & savvy business advisory; supported by strategic, accurate & technology-forward accounting, bookkeeping, strategy, and tax work. We take impeccable care of our clients' books, payroll, and taxes, while also helping them streamline and automate the backend of their business for optimal performance and profitability results.

Why we need you!

• Work closely with clients and firm team members to partner on business tax planning, consulting, and compliance services creatively and proactively
• Preparation and review of complex corporate, partnership and individual tax returns
• Develops entrepreneurial approach to client service and good working relationships with clients and team through open communication, effectively managing deadlines, and sharing tax savings strategies
• Prepares tax planning and estimates and is involved in planning for more complex clients
• Contributes to the client service team by producing quality work with quick turnaround and attentive service
• Develops and implements best practices to ensure continual process improvement
• Leads software and technology process development and enhancements
• Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and imagination in approaching work
• Mentor and develop tax staff
• Build new and grow existing client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client business. This should include maintaining a business development mind-set with current and future relationships

• Excellent communication skills – able to interact with clients as well as efficiently communicate with team members regarding projects, deadlines and statuses
• Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships
  

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or other related degree
• CPA certification
• 7+ years of tax related experience
• Proven work experience as a Tax Manager
• Working knowledge of CCH Engagement
• Excellent knowledge of tax accounting, tax compliance and analytical skills
