Job Description

The primary responsibilities are to support the development and achievement of the organization's goals and objectives by providing accurate, insightful and timely finance support and analysis. This individual will be responsible for analyzing and presenting financial and operational performance metrics, supporting the delivery of key initiatives and communicating monthly business results against agreed performance targets to the Finance team and/or business partners.

Service Delivery

  • Prepare and maintain complex financial models 
  • Work directly with business partners to develop Annual Operating Plans
  • Perform forecasting and analysis
  • Lead monthly close process
  • Research and analyze financial statement data 
  • Develop business cases for new initiatives and track performance.
  • Develop reports for key strategic initiatives
  • Perform ad-hoc strategic and financial analyses and research assignments
  • Present key insights and recommendations 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Technical/Professional Expertise

  • Familiarity with Cognos environment is an asset.

Leadership

  • Ability to lead a small team located in multiple centres.
  • Acts as advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.

 

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or demonstrated equivalent with a minimum of 7 to 10 years work experience in a multi-national company;
    • CPA and/or MBA would be considered an asset
    • Exposure to a large ERP system in particular Oracle
    • Exposure to large Planning & Analysis tools such as Cognos
    • Some international travel could be required, expected to be infrequent.

    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial data, including financial statements, key financial ratios, valuation models and techniques
    • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience involving extensive work with complex spreadsheets
    • Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy; willingness to work with multiple different colleagues on a variety of initiatives
    • Ability to work in a high-paced environment with a sense of urgency
    • Outstanding oral communication, written and presentation skills
    • Strong organizational skills – ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
    • Consultative, service-oriented mindset and collaborative problem-solving skills
    • Ability to independently lead projects and engage with business partners.
    • Proactive and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and manage change effectively
