You will also assist the AML and Fraud teams in researching and assessing risks faced by our firm, advisors, and their clients. Additionally, you will gather and analyze information related to potential money laundering, fraud, or irregular trading practices, ensuring compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, AML regulations, the AMLA, and the USA PATRIOT Act.

Key Responsibilities

  • Researching and facilitating the resolution of CIP failures and exceptions.
  • Performing complex analysis and reporting in support of KYC investigations.
  • Reviewing advisor meetings, emails, and general notes to understand the rationale behind transactions, trading, and account setup.
  • Responding to common inquiries or complaints from advisors.
  • Reviewing, comparing, and validating government-issued IDs.
  • Compiling and conducting advanced analysis of customer due diligence documentation and related research.
  • Conducting high-end OSINT to mitigate or confirm risks.
  • Effectively managing interpersonal relationships during reviews involving multiple departments.
  • Reporting adverse results to team leaders in a timely manner.
  • Carrying out other research projects as requested in support of AML and Fraud teams.

Core Strengths and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Ability to evaluate CIP and KYC profiles
  • Experience in managing or working in a service environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Skilled in conducting OSINT
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with professionalism and appropriate discretion
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a group setting
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Flexibility and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Demonstrated initiative and creativity in problem-solving
  • ACAMS certification or ability to attain it within 6 months of hiring

Additional Skills and Knowledge

  • Ability to manage and learn multiple systems (e.g., Actimize, Lexis/Nexis)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Basic understanding of various laws, regulations, and industry guidance affecting financial institutions' compliance programs, particularly related to AML, the Bank Secrecy Act, and the USA PATRIOT Act
