Your missions

What You’ll Experience as a Technical Program Manager at TGG:

  • Leading the overall program by coordinating activities to keep it on track at one of TGG’s clients. 
  • You will operate as a technology expert both behind the scenes and out front with business partners.
  • You will work closely with executive management to guide the overall work of the project teams, while facilitating discussions between the executives and their organizations.
  • Overseeing and organizing all phases of the program, ensuring all necessary governance is in place (e.g. schedule, risks, issues, roles and responsibilities, communications, etc.), facilitating meetings, managing program budget, and managing program resource needs.
  • Collaborating with project managers and ensuring that program standards are adhered to.

What You Will Work On:

  • You’ll use your technical expertise to help clients as they undertake large and complex projects-  like implementing a new checkout system in their stores or implementing a new customer service experience.
  • Holding the responsibility and accountability for the program (& dependent projects) execution from inception until the transition to operations. Ensuring deliverables are aligned to program outcomes and that key stakeholders are informed and in agreement. 
  • Defining the program governance (controls), planning the overall program, and monitoring and communicating the progress. Then, defining standards and managing the main program documents such as the program charter, communication plan, and other governance documentation.
  • Executing daily program management across projects and workstreams, managing the program’s budget, risks, and issues while taking corrective measures or escalating to stakeholders when necessary. 
  • Planning, governance, and oversight of dependent projects needed to achieve business outcomes while managing and utilizing resources across projects. 
  • Communicating timely and effectively with various client stakeholders and team members on the initiative by leveraging multiple channels.
  • Utilizing a data-driven approach to solving problems and delivering business and organizational outcomes.

  • Client stakeholders ranging from individual contributors to senior executives. You’ll ensure collaboration and maintain an exceptional business relationship with these stakeholders. 
  • Individual project managers through developing program scope, creating, managing deliverables, required resources, project schedules, and budget.

Examples of What You Bring to the Table:

  • 5+ years of program management experience in complex business and technology programs for large companies. 
  • You have deep experience in enterprise program management, project management, business analysis, change management, and/or process improvement methodologies and how they are used in business settings. You have knowledge of Agile techniques and experience in organizational design and/or business strategy development.
  • A desire to be intellectually curious, ensuring a deep understanding of client needs and ability to effectively navigate the unique nature of each client and/ or scope of work.
  • Demonstrated strong presentation, facilitation, and communication (written and verbal) skills while demonstrating grounded confidence to your audience.
  • Certification in any of the following: Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe), Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma, Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), and/or Prosci ADKAR.
  • Displayed experience leading enterprise-level initiatives, impacting technology, people, and processes, for companies with national or international footprints.
  • Deep technical expertise across at least one discipline: enterprise software, network, systems, back-end, front end development and/or mobile technologies.
  • Fundamental and demonstrable understanding of project management methodologies used in technical settings, including agile, waterfall and the tools required to manage them.
  • Experience with large scale modern ERP, CRM and POS projects highly preferred.
  • Experience in managing products/ programs and/ or projects that require: Big Data and/ or Analytics (data capture or reporting).

Salaries vary and are dependent on considerations such as: experience and specific skills/certifications. The base plus target bonus total compensation range for this role is $110,000 to $160,000. Additional compensation beyond this range is available as a result of leadership and business development opportunities. Salary details are discussed openly during the hiring process. 

Work Environment:

TGG is headquartered in Portland, Oregon, and has team members living in various locations across the United States. Our consultants must have the ability to travel and to work remotely or onsite. Each engagement has unique conditions, and we work collaboratively to meet both our client and team's needs regarding onsite and travel requirements.
