NEON COLLEGE AMBASSADOR PROGRAM - FALL 2024

The NEON College Ambassador Program is currently accepting applications from undergraduate students enrolled at the following universities: Columbia University, Emerson College, Harvard University, NYU, Ohio State University, Portland State University, Temple University, University of Colorado Boulder, University of Washington, and Vanderbilt University.

We ask that you please only apply if you are currently enrolled at one of the universities above.

NEON is looking for an outgoing, passionate, and communications-savvy college student to be our on-campus representative for the Fall 2024 Semester (September 2024 - December 2024). As part of our marketing program, you’ll work collaboratively with the NEON team and other campus representatives at colleges across the country, organizing and executing a variety of outreach, marketing, and publicity campaigns for NEON film releases. Those selected for this program will gain hands-on experience working in film marketing and distribution, as well as valuable connections and the opportunity to learn from NEON staff.

Our ideal candidate is deeply engaged in their campus community and well-connected across campus groups, especially through social media platforms. They are a major fan of NEON and have a nuanced understanding of how to promote NEON’s unique brand on their campus and in their local area. They are a fun-loving and energetic self-starter.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Design and implement marketing campaigns for your campus that focus on reach and publicity
  • Engage multiple communities on your campus through social media
  • Organize advance NEON screenings for students to platform upcoming movies as well as creative watch party events for older NEON titles
  • Work with on-campus media outlets to secure coverage of NEON events
  • Establish relationships with student organizations, local movie theaters, and theatrical programmers on campus
  • Conduct outreach and promotional activities for NEON including on-campus tabling and swag giveaways
  • Manage check-in tables for events at local theaters
  • Organize and execute guerrilla marketing stunts on campus to spread buzz and awareness about upcoming releases

APPLICATION PROCESS:

To apply, please send your resume and your answers to the following questions (resumes submitted without answering the questions will not be considered):

  • a. Tell us about yourself and your role on campus. How are you connected to your school’s film community? Do you belong to any groups or networks that allow you to reach a wide audience on campus through social media and/or do you have your own social media presence?
  • b. Discuss a recent independent film that you believe effectively targeted college students through its marketing strategy. Explain why you think it was successful in reaching this audience.
  • c. Share one out-of-the-box idea on how to engage your campus with NEON, either through a specific film released by NEON or by leveraging the overall NEON brand.
