Meet the team behind this journey
The Abuse Protection team’s mission is to identify, monitor and block traffic that harms DeepL’s users, systems, or business. The team ensure that both free users and paying customers do not abuse DeepL’s services through excessive or malicious requests, by monitoring and managing usage data, as well as building the necessary interventions when something seems amiss. The team is responsible for DeepL’s shared services for bot protection, rate limiting and usage limitation.
The teams’ tech stack includes
- C# and ASP.NET Core on Linux in Kubernetes for backend services,
- Typescript for web clients and Cloudflare workers,
- Python for scripting and tooling,
- Kafka,
- PostgreSQL, Clickhouse,
- Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo,
- GitLab, ArgoCD.
