About the Company:

We are a leading renewable Independent Power Producer (IPP) with a robust portfolio of 8GW of projects. Our operations span across solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and wind energy. Committed to sustainability and innovation, we focus on delivering clean and reliable energy solutions to meet the growing demands of a low-carbon future. Our team is dedicated to excellence in project development, execution, and operations, ensuring that we contribute significantly to global renewable energy targets.

Job Overview:

As our Grid Connections Manager, you will be a key member of the Global Grid team, providing a vital service to the business. Your role will involve identifying grid origination opportunities, progressing grid offers to RTB status and/or energisation readiness, and leading the grid connection process for all projects in Great Britain (GB). Reporting directly to the Country Manager based in Madrid, you will have the opportunity to shape the internal grid process and participate in external industry working groups to influence evolving grid connection policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Network Analysis: Conduct network analysis at both distribution and transmission levels to identify potential locations with available capacity.
  • Grid Applications: Engage with the Distribution Network Operators (DNOs)/National Grid for pre-application meetings, prepare, and submit grid connection applications.
  • Technical Due Diligence: Provide technical due diligence for grid offers, including optimization of connection solutions, costs, program of works, and curtailment assessment.
  • Financial Modelling: Provide grid inputs such as substation design, non-contestable/contestable costs, DUOS/TNOUS charges, capital contributions, and securities for financial modelling, tendering, and planning purposes.
  • Project Management: Manage Independent Connection Providers (ICPs) and consultants to progress projects to RTB/energisation, including reviewing design submissions and overseeing construction works.
  • Sales Support: Provide timely support to the sales processes.
  • Reporting: Prepare grid reports and strategic advice for the Management team.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain permanent contact with DNOs and other stakeholders to secure grid connection agreements.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with the Planning and Management Team for the successful development of projects.
  • Updates: Provide regular updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Relationship Building: Build strong relationships with relevant DNOs.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Experience:
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in grid connection management for demand and generation.
  • Experience working for a DNO/National Grid in the planning/design/connections directorate or a similar role in a renewables developer.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
  • Skills:
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth understanding of UK grid connection processes, regulations, and standards, including G99.
  • Expert knowledge of GB Distribution and Transmission networks.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, specifications, and drawings.
  • Entrepreneurial and data-driven mindset with an ability to identify and act on opportunities.
  • Education:
