Description of role:
We are looking for new members to join the TWI Global Academy Steering Board.
The TWI Global Academy welcomes everyone to start developing their career path, where they can undertake internationally certified and accredited courses – developed in collaboration with industry, in a flexible, blended study environment. Candidates of the Global Academy can select from eight levels of qualification – spanning more than 20 different options across educational, vocational and applied workplace routes – ranging from foundation Diplomas to Doctorates.
The Role
As a Board Member you will help guide the activities of the Global Academy with responsibilities including, but not limited to: advising and agreeing on curriculum, decision making on changes to the curriculum, reviewing lecturer’s applications for academic related courses and ensuring the programmes are suitable for the audience.
You will attend quarterly Steering Board meetings and participate in activities which will contribute to the development of the Global Academy programme and ensure quality of the courses taught within are of a high standard.
Person Specification
To be successful you should have board or senior management experience in either an academic or industrial setting. You should also have an interest in fostering collaboration between academia and industry. We are keen to hear from people with a broad knowledge of higher or vocational or technical education, or asset integrity management or piping and engineering processes.
Term of Office
You will be appointed for an initial term of 3 years, and will be eligible for re-appointment for one additional term (maximum 6 years).
This is a non-remunerated role and requires a time commitment of at least four days per annum.
Location
Meetings will typically take place via an online platform, such as Microsoft Teams. In the case of in person meetings, these will take place within the UK but online attendance will always be available.
