Job Description
  • Application Operation of the Shared Management Platform (SMP)
  • Ensure that the provided operations / services are available und running stable
  • Providing first and second level support for SMP infrastructure components
  • Solving Tickets received from other teams via E-Mail or ServiceNow ticket
  • Keep systems up to date (Hotfix, patch management)
  • Daily Health Check (Availability, Traffic, Eventlog, CPU, Memory etc.)
  • Incident Management (ServiceNow)
    • Opening and solving tickets (e.g. Google ticket, Firewall ticket etc.)
    • First level incident resolution
    • Determine criticality for incoming incidents
    • Forward tickets to 2nd or 3rd Level Support if required
  • Change Management
    • Test and simulate configuration changes in Stage environment
    • Coordination of planning and testing of system changes with application owners
    • Deployment to Prod environment (Terraform, Magenta CI/CD)
  • Write documentation about learned information to use it as knowledge transfer and reduce downtimes
  • Supporting Infrastructure Nagios Monitoring, Start / Stop, Backup / Restore
  • Conference call at regular intervals and remote desktop meeting about Incident and Problem and ongoing tasks
  • Oncall support
  • Administration of
    • operating system
    • virtual Jump Server (Linux)
    • virtual DNS Server (bind9)
    • virtual Ansible Server
    • virtual Reverse Proxy (nginx)

Qualifications
  • Language: English (minimal B2, recommended C1)
  • Ideally Google Cloud Platform and/or Container systems (e.g. docker) know how
  • >1 Year of experience in IT Operations 
  • Basic Remote Access protocol, e.g. SSH
  • Basic Linux Administration
  • Basic Networking
  • Willing to take over responsibility
  • Willing to improve operational skills
