Job Summary:

The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for nurturing and building strong, meaningful, and collaborative partnerships with key community groups essential to Geisinger delivering its mission throughout its service area.

Job Duties:

  • Assist leaders in managing CHNA implementation plans and teams.

  • Develop written and oral materials with Marketing and Communications to support project strategic objectives.

  • Administer the Community Benefit Tracker Tool, develop and support tracking methods, train and support CBT users, collaborate with finance and other departments to track and report community benefits, and ensure accurate data submission.

  • Prepare standard and ad hoc community benefit reports to help hospital and Institute leaders measure programs and strategic goals.

  • Develop, establish and maintain positive partnerships with local internal and external stakeholders, community groups, business groups and government agencies through regular 1:1 interaction (e.g. phone calls / emails / in-person meetings) with emphasis on identified key organizations that support our mission, employees, patients, members and students.

  • Communicate issues to key staff and stakeholders; coordinate community relations projects; produce deliverables and coordinate with other stakeholders.
  • Manage the community request process which includes assisting with setting goals, triaging requests, coordinating the review process, correspondence with community groups, working with Marketing & Communication team on the fulfillment of sponsorship benefits and publicity, and reporting on the outcomes of the projects.
  • Represent Geisinger at various coalition meetings, community gatherings, events, and conference.
  • Work with leadership to implement a comprehensive, effective measurement system to track and measure impact and progress of community relations activities and evaluate our progress in achieving goals related to Geisinger’s strategic plan objectives related to community impact.
