Job Summary: The Proposal Manager is responsible for the coordination of all proposal activity for the FORTNA estimating department. 

Responsibilities:

  • Generate proposal documents based on content that is provided from systems and estimating engineers
  • Obtain final approvals from management prior to the release of a proposal to the sales team
  • Coordinate meetings between sales and the estimating team, as needed to clarify the scope of proposals 
  • Attend weekly meetings with the estimating team and provide updates to the team on the status of each outstanding proposal
  • Coordinate weekly proposal status review meetings to discuss each outstanding proposal, and any issues that may inhibit timely delivery of proposals 
  • Create and maintain a working set of proposal templates in Microsoft Word format; this is inclusive of creating new templates for repeatable quotes based on previous “best of breed” proposals, and improving existing templates based on collaboration with subject matter experts 
  • Periodically work with the FORTNA legal department to ensure that the Terms and Conditions within our proposal templates are accurate
  • Proofread proposal documents to ensure proper formatting and grammar, prior to delivery to the FORTNA sales team
  • Generate PowerPoint presentations for the sales team, based on input from the estimating engineers
  • Generate project numbers via the ERP system as RFPs are received

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Word, with an emphasis on document formatting
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to perform detailed oriented work in a timely manner, ensuring deadlines are achieved
  • Ability to review documents to ensure that they are grammatical correct
  • Ability to lead internal meetings 
  • Ability to communicate, both orally and written, at all levels of the business and with customers
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time with changing priorities
  • Familiarity with KPIs and data analysis is a plus

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field
  • Experience in the material handling industry is desired, but not required
  • Experience with management of the project estimating process is highly desirable

The base salary range for this role is $97,800 to $146,700.  This base salary range represents the low and high end of the base salary range for this position. Actual base salary offered will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.
