KH016 - Live-In Nanny - Newtown, PA

Overview:

A lovely and warm family based in Newtown, PA (1.5 hours outside of New York City) is seeking a full-time live-in nanny for their 3.5-year-old, almost-2-year-old, and 4-month-old, starting at the end of August/beginning of September. The schedule will be 45-50 hours per week, from 7:30am-5:30/6pm, Monday through Friday. The family uses a mindful approach to parenting, where the children need to have boundaries and structure, know what to expect, and understand that ultimately adults are in charge but feelings are respected. Because Mom works from home, the family needs a true career nanny who can take charge with the children, step in, and redirect. 

Responsibilities:

• Full-charge childcare, cooking for the children, children’s laundry including ironing, and maintaining children’s bedrooms and play spaces. They have a cleaning team for deep cleaning 
• Tag-teaming with involved work from home mother including switching off staying home with baby while mom takes older children out or vice versa
• Staying engaged with the children and happy to play and explore on the property, especially if the baby is napping. The family lives on 5 acres in the countryside and has an outdoor playground, indoor playroom, and pool
• Taking children to activities or local parks, all within a 20-minute drive of the home
• Being responsible for the children overnight a few nights quarterly (for additional compensation)  

Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will be outdoorsy and active and happy to spend time outside in nature with the children exploring their 5 acre countryside property
• Driver's license and clean driving record. There is a nanny car available for transporting the children and personal use during time off. Driver is not required but nice to have
• Ideal personality: warm positive energy, energetic to keep up with three busy children, creative, happy to be silly and goofy 
• Knows how to read the room and go do laundry or cooking if mom or grandparents are with the children. The grandparents visit at least once per week during April-October 
• Open to traveling with the family (not required but nice to have)

Requirements:

• Prioritize the safety and well-being of the children at all times
• Able to handle all 3 children solo. Although their oldest is in camp or school from 8 am- 3 pm daily, the nanny must be able to handle all 3 children when needed
• Good swimmer, happy to swim with children, and able to supervise children in and around water 
• US passport, Green Card, or EAC 

Salary and Benefits:

• $30-$40 per hour plus $150 healthcare stipend, 2 weeks PTO, and 4 personal/sick days
• Private bedroom and bathroom; candidate can choose to go home weekends or live-in 7 days
• Car for personal use during off time
