MobyX is an innovative startup headquartered in Cyprus, dedicated to crafting cutting-edge software solutions for the transportation industry. We are on the hunt for a talented Data Scientist to join our dynamic team and contribute to the evolution of our software products. This role requires eligibility to work within the EU and excellent command in English.

The Position

Join us at MobyX if you are seeking a role that challenges you to apply your skills in data science to solve complex problems in the transportation sector. As our Data Scientist, you will analyze vast amounts of data to extract actionable insights, predict trends, and enhance the decision-making process across our suite of products. Working closely with our web development, mobile development, and product development teams, you will be instrumental in propelling Moby’s offerings to new heights.

Currently MobyX offers two main products;

  • MobyApp: a smartphone application that collects user data and derives travel demand patterns
  • Harmony-MS: a new generation integrated spatial and transport planning software platform that enables our clients to explore the dynamics of new mobility services and combine multiple models in one place

Requirements

Our Data Science Stack

  • Python
  • R
  • SQL

What you do

  • Develop data analytics modules for mobility in Python
  • Develop travel demand models using either conventional or machine learning techniques
  • Prepare project deliverables (reports, papers, documentation)
  • Participate in EU project meetings, and actively engage partners
  • Work together with product teams (mobile, backend, web) to design innovative solutions

How to Stand Out

  • A relevant MSc degree in engineering, math or related field
  • Experience in transport and travel data
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning models
  • Knowledgeable about maps, geospatial data analysis, and location-based services
  • Knowledge of JavaScript or other programming language
  • Familiar with our infrastructure, such as Azure Cloud and Docker
