Medical Records/Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist II, full-time

Love to help people? Valley View is seeking a skilled customer service specialist to assist our Medical Records/Health Information Management (HIM) Department as a full-time HIM Specialist II. 

High level of accuracy with attention to detail and critical thinking skills. Customer service experience preferred. Ability to function in high multitasking environment. Computer proficiency required and the ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with all staff, co-workers and customers. 

This is NOT Remote position.  

GENERAL OBJECTIVES

1. Performs main medical record activities.
2. Performs departmental receptionist/secretary duties.
3. Performs scanning, QA and document indexing activities.
4. Performs periodic record review activities as directed by HIM Management
5. Performs routine MPI management functions.
6. Provides departmental coverage for birth certificate registrations.
7. Provides Release of Information (ROI) services as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

• Medical Secretary Certification or Health Information Management courses preferred.
• Attention to detail.
• Consistency and accuracy in routine job functions
• Critical thinking skills
• Previous Health Information experience preferred.
• Computer proficiency required.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to function in a high multitasking environment required.
• Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with all staff, co-workers and customers.

SALARY

• Starting salary dependent upon education, experience, and skillset
• Position wage range:  $20.00 - $28.87/hour
